Welcome to a new school year! I am very excited to be your child’s teacher for second grade. I have many fun and exciting things planned for this school year and can’t wait to get started. The summer was great and very relaxing. I enjoyed every minute that I was home with my little boys, Luke and Ben. We spent many days at the Swim Club and having playdates with friends! My husband, Luke, Ben, and I also spent time with family at our shore house in Ocean City, NJ. It was great to be on the beach and watch the boys play in the sand and splash in the waves. It was a great summer! I am going into my 13th year of teaching and am looking forward to the new faces that will walk into my classroom this year. I have been teaching second grade for nine years now and love it just as much as the first year I started. Before coming to Upper Moreland I taught first grade in Philadelphia for a few years and then spent one year in North Penn. I am a graduate of West Chester University and I received my Masters in Education from Gwynedd Mercy College, as well as a Masters in Reading. I have also completed coursework in technology. I have a passion for reading and love to see my second graders grow as readers throughout the year.
A fun little fact about me is that I attended Upper Moreland schools as a child. I am currently teaching in my old 5th grade classroom. I grew up in the community, so being in the Primary School makes me feel right back at home. It is wonderful to have the opportunity to teach in the school I grew up in! I am looking forward to teaching your child and working with you throughout the school year.
